So, first off I'm not a huge GTA fan. I've always been more into Saints Row. Saying that, GTA V has won me over. Without giving away any plot or anything else, the gameplay is pretty damn good. The ability to switch between 3 main characters in an intertwined storyline is something new and to be honest I wanna see more of it. Plus, the three characters are super developed and feel involved in the story more than most games. The world is huge and well developed. I've played the game a lot, but I'm not reviewing the game til I finish it.
Expect a Saints Row 4 + Enter the Dominatrix review soon.
Oh, this game, I spent many of my childhood nights playing this game. And the fact of the matter is I still love it.
So there is one thing that new system games don't have compared to new systems. Difficulty. A lot of game now are easy , you can beat them in a day. Truth be told I have only recently beaten this game. Because of lack of save file its pretty much a "get as far as you can and remember what you did so you can get back to where you where quickly" type of game but from now on ill just refer to it as a VMG or Virtual Memory game.
So this game is kinda what you would expect a Batman detective game would be except for you know, not rich or Bruce Wayne. But all that aside from all that of your sitting at home and want to play something this game is the bee's knees, it's legs and arms, given they have those appendages. I'm not gonna tell you about the story cause it ruins the game. Just know that this is on my top 10 games of all time, and I highly suggest it. With that I leave you with a funny in game pic.
With Microsoft Announcing the next Xbox in the next couple weeks, The gen we are in is coming to a close. With the our old consoles becoming obsolete or at least not "up to date" or less important to developers what games do i think deserve your attention. This List will be the Top 10 games of this generation (360, PS3 and yes i am including the wii, Get over it.... you know who you are.) 7.Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. (WII)
This generations installment of the franchise we grew up on, Once again you are playing as Link and of course that B*tch Zelda is gone missing again. and go figuire you have to muster up the courage to go save her. Go back before Hyrule, before Ganon, and help establish the kingdom. Like all GOOD Zelda games this one start off slowly and before you know it you are fully involved in this game. You start off in the sky, yes you heard me the sky, where the temple of the goddess is located. Instead of your beloved pony epona you have a bird you fly through the sky on, going to different regions in what will become Hyrule. Also, Nintendo did something new in the franchise. In this installment you upgrade your weapons through out the game. all and all a good game, if you own a wii, and wanna pick it up for a bit play this game.
6. Castle Crashers (360, PS3,PC)
Did you love Golden axe as a kid? Do you have a sick sense of humor? Do you laugh at Will Ferrel, and Family guy? Then Castle crashers is a must play, It takes simple controls and a side scrolling hack and slash, and blends them perfectly. on top of it all a top of weapons AND a second playthrough. It is co-op for 1-4 players. and it has Plenty of character unlocks. You are one of 4 knights in the beginning, and the kingdom is attacked you emerge from a celebration to a feind stealing a crystal and you are tossed into gameplay. You also have to save 4 princesses along the way. and the boss battles are funny and difficult.
5.Batman: Arkham City
The Dark knight, oh what to say? This Free roaming through the slums of Gotham, kicking the crap out of your favorite villians. I love the gameplay, the controls take a little while to get used too but they are well worth it. Taking Batman to more of his Detective roots, plus there are multiple storylines going at once but they don't really loose you. I can't think of much to say about this game i just love it.
4. Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom3
I honestly never though this game was gonna happen with the announcement of Street fighter X tekken (Which no way in hell did that make the list, it was shit) but I'm glad it did. They went with the "If it ain't broke don't fix it" mentallity. The Character selection is amazing the stages are awesome. if you want to kill time and play something fun, this is a game for you. A GREAT addition to any game collection
3.Assassin's creed
Do you love Prince of Persia? Do you like the idea of jumping off a roof onto the back of a person walking through the street and slaying them? What about Multimap Freeroaming? Then This game or any of them really is for you. Taking place in Italy, you are Ezio and your father is setup and now you are seeking vengence after you find out that his is party of a "underground assassin group". The gaqmeplay is good, the story is good and the hours you'll spend playing are worth it
2. Borderlands
Do you like to play First person shooters? Leveling up? comedy? Action? JUST PLAY THIS F*CKIN Game! 5 soon to be 6 playable characters, 3 DLC map/areas/ Stories, 600+skins Tons of heads to customize your Character! Did i mention Play this? do it. Now. SAINTS ROW THE THIRD!
Yeah Suprised right? I love this game, Screw GTA. This series is where it's at for me. A free roaming adventure type game shooter. I Play this game allways, I never get bored, You can Completely customize your character to look like everything from Aquaman to a goth buisnessman beating thugs to death with a purple dildo..... you read that right. Play this to keep your console alive.
. You're probably asking where Call of duty, Halo, and Gears are, they do not belong on this list. I am not a fan of games made strictly multiplayer. So, that's why those game are not here, if i am good at them or not, i didnt have as much fun with them as i did these game. These are my opinions.
So the other day I was browsing the Xbox Live Market looking to spend some points and i stumbled upon a game from my childhood and my face lit up. But my question is Do all game have the social appeal to get a HD remake? and what games have done it with the most success?
HD remakes Winning! So I am pretty sure you have all played a pokemon game at a point in time, this is a series that has made "HD" remakes a kind of acceptable thing, with Pokemon Red/Blue remade for the GBA and the Gold/Silver Remade for the DS and they were widely received more than their new counterparts (GBA Ruby and Sapphire and DS Diamond and Pearl). But they aren't the only games getting HD Reboots all the time, Look at the Mario Series. If your like me you hold in your memory "Super Mario Allstars" a great remake not only cause our favorite NES games were HD for that time but they were all in one freakin place! No Switching out game when you wanted to play a new game.
When I was Looking for my game to buy on LIVE I stumbled on Earthworm Jim HD, I loved this game as a child not only were you a WORM IN A FREAKIN ROBOT SUIT! but you flew around space and the level design was crazy for it's time. Below here i am going to make a list of games that i Think/Want to be made in "HD".
MY HOPES AND DREAMS. Boogerman a pick and flick adventure
You Start on a bus, and told the story of THE VAULT, you are a Vault Hunter. Right away you Choose 1 of 4 Vault Hunters.
There is Roland, a former member of the Atlas Corporation's private Crimson Lance army, is described by the game as a "Soldier" and is able to deploy an automated gun turret that can be upgraded with a wide range of offensive and defensive abilities, along with a support role for his teammates. Roland and prefers shotguns and combat rifles. I usually use him when I'm just running around.
Then Lilith a siren, and her Phasewalk ability allows her to temporarily enter another dimension, which renders her invisible to enemies, makes her move faster and she is unable to take damage from enemies. Her Phasewalk causes a powerful shock-wave blast that can damage nearby enemies whenever she enters and exits Phasewalk. Lilith's preferred guns are fire, acid, electrical, or explosive elemental tech weapons and some of her skills focus on improving her "damage over time" with elements.
Mordecai, a Hunter, specializes in using sniper rifles and revolvers and is aided by his pet Bloodwing, an alien bird resembling a hawk, which can be used to assist in his long-range attack skills and scavenging for loot.
Brick is a Berserker, a tank-style character who is strong in melee combat. Brick's preferred weapons are explosives and rocket launchers. Brick has the special ability to temporarily enter a berserker rage mode during which he cannot wield guns, instead using his massive fists to rapidly pound his enemies to death, and rapidly regenerates health. Besides being a melee expert, Brick can use explosive damage more efficiently than the other classes. The story is rather interesting. You can Co-op with 3 people over wifi and 2 player on 1 system. You go through Pandora picking up cool weapons and Leveling up, there is alot to do. You First arrive in Fyrestone and Meet DR. Zed. A "Doctor" who needs your help. and then shortly after you meet some other pretty..... interesting characters. Well the whole time you are Going forward to open the vault with great promises of treasure. once you beat the story you may think you're done but there are 4 DLC installments. Main Story for me is about an 8. There are alot of good things about this game. I'll get into my likes and dislikes at the end but for now I'm going to rate the DLC.
Dr.Ned's Zombie Island
You enter Jakobs cove and right away you are attacked by Zombies, one thing i can say is the Zombies are done Very well. AS you push forward with this Borderlands themed horror movie you encounter Wereskags, and Zombies. As you investigate these Zombies you find out that Dr.Ned was trying yo save the workers of Jakobs cove and inadvertently changed them into Zombies. This DLC was Very well made but i feel like it could have been more so on my scale it only receives a 5. It's not that I didn't like it i just felt as if it wasn't as well done as it could have been.
Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot
This DLC is a Wave by Wave DLC. You enter the arena and you are immediately asked to compete in this Sport of Slaughter. You can really only say so much about this but i loved it. my rating of it is a 6. It is a good add-on but after a while it gets tedious and if you are soloing the game it gets very boring.
The Secret Armory of General Knoxx:
Level cap increase! You get an 11 level cap raise with this DLC. PLUS a new Vehicle. You start this DLC meeting Scooter, one of the characters heard through-out the main story. Not shortly after you are Introduced to the Villain of this segment General Knoxx. Works for the Atlas Corporation. You are hired to take him down by an assassin named Athena. This is by far the Biggest and most worthwhile DLC of Borderlands 1 and gets a 9.
Claptrap's New Robot Revolution
Ah, the Last DLC, Featuring Claptrap, Your annoying little guide from the main story. at the end of the story Claptrap is shocked by energy from the vault and is turned into Claptrap interplanetary ninja assassin. He then sets out to takeover Pandora with his Millions of Claptraps.... yes there are alot of them. the most thrilling part about this DLC is all the time he spent annoying you, you now get to shoot a bunch of him in the face. This DLC gets a 8.
OVERALL:+Great replay value
+Lots of DLC
+ Great Characters
+Great Co-op
-ALOT of fetch quests
-Boring Single player
My rating of all of it including DLC is a 9.
Stay tuned for a Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow Review....... yeah that's right..... it's next!!!
You are Commander Sheppard! You've saved the galaxy from the Geth in ME1 and now all is peaceful in the galaxy. until the Opening scene when the Normandy is attacked. Your old crew leave your ship but Joker decides to stay, you go to save him and end up dying....... WTF!? just gotta say a hell of an opening scene. It had me hooked from the beginning I'm sitting there saying to myself, "How can the do a sequel where you end up dying in the first 10 mins of the game!?!?!?" Needless to say the game picks up right away, and keeps the pace going. If you played ME1 or not you get to make the Big decisions from the first game. So no harm no foul. I Suggest you play the first one, just for the Trilogy feel of the ME universe. Your old crew, or at least some of them, return. My personal favorite recruit is Jack, She is a Bionic experiment, and from first look she just looks like a women who is not to be f**ked with. Then There is Miranda and Jacob, Both work with Cerberus and are great for your team. then there is Grunt... He's a heavy hitter a Krogan clone that joins you just cause he's a bad-ass and wants to spill blood. Then Returning is Garrus, Tali, and i haven't gotten Ashley, i just choose not to lol. Then There is Thane, an assassin who was on his last kill, You find out right away that he is dying. then who i like to refer to as the Jar jar binks of this game Mordin. I have not stated but i have not 100% finished the game yet but I'm right there, I still have yet to get Samara and Legion. I will review each Character class it's strengths and weaknesses via other posts. As a plus in this game there are New planets, and new weapons. Plus get some background on Cerberus. So far so good, if you are looking for a game to play PICK IT UP! You have Endless game play, i do have 1 complaint, the lack of armor, You hold onto your main armor for a little longer than i would like and there are lack of helmets unless you pop out money for DLC,Which i may or may not do. Another thing is the planet scanning is kinda tedious, with little rewards but a main part of the story so you can upgrade you ship, armor, recruits and weapons. Despite this Let's get to my over all rating!
